<span itemprop="headline">「第83回アカデミー賞」予測：ダークホース(「トゥルー・グリット」）浮上。</span>

 

 

「第83回アカデミー賞」の授賞式が今月28日（月）午前中（日本時間）と迫ってきた。

テレビなどの映画解説者、ブログなどで予想が展開されているが、いくつかの理由で

かなり絞られてきているようなのだ。

 

英国のエリザベス女王を描いた「クイーン」が2006年に主演女優賞（ヘレン・ミレン）と脚本賞を受賞しているが、米アカデミー会員は、英国の王室に対して憧れ、畏敬の念を持っているといわれる。そのため、今回の候補の中にある「英国王のスピーチ」は王室のみならず、ストーリーが感動的であることから、かなりの確率で、「作品賞」の可能性が高いと言われている。

 

これを追うのが、急速に人気を得ているという「トゥルー・グリット」だという。これまで、「英国王」vs.「ソーシャル・ネットワーク」とみられていたが、このところの「トゥルー・グリット」の評価がウナギ上りという。

 

まったく、知名度が低く、アカデミー賞の直前に勢いで賞をさらっていった作品「スラムドッグ＄ミリオネア」に似ているというのだ。伝統的な正攻法の王室作品か、西部劇の感動作か・・・といった雲行きのようだ。「ソーシャル・ネットワーク」も新しい試みの斬新さが受けて、3番手ながら、まだ逆転もありそうだ。

 

ところで、アカデミー賞最終投票用紙を発送するイベントが2月2日行われ、投票用紙の管理を委託されている国際的監査会社プライスウォーターハウスクーパースの厳重管理の元、発送されたようだ。

5,755通ある投票用紙は、米国西海岸時間2月22日午前5時必着で投票用紙をプライスウォーターハウスクーパース社に送り返さなければならない。その後集計作業が行われるが、この作業が終わっても、結果を知ることができるのはプライスウオーターハウスのロサ氏とアルトマン氏のみという。

 

アカデミー賞授賞式当日には、ロサ氏が自分の腕にかけた手錠とつないだアタッシュケースに、結果が書かれた封筒を入れて会場のコダック・シアターに登場する。70年以上にわたる同社のオスカー投票管理業務において、情報漏れなどのアクシデントは一度たりとも起きていない。

 

国家機密さながらの管理体制が敷かれているアカデミー賞の結果が発表される日まで、残すところあと22日となった。
